Finally Nexus 4 OTA is out – Here’s how to install the KRT16s OTA update over KRT160 manually ??
Though the Nexus 4 owners had to wait a long time for the OTA update but it is worth waiting because Google today rolled out a bugs free clean OTA for Nexus 4 even the Nexus 5,7 & 10 again received the same to update to fix those bugs.
Those who have not updated their device to KitKat KRT160 will receive the KRT16S update over the air and to those who have already flashed the Factory Image have to Flash this KRT16S manually.
How to install the KRT16s OTA update over KRT160 manually ??
In order to complete the steps below, you need to have the Android SDK installed. The SDK contains the latest version of adb and fastboot, which you will need for flashing. You don’t need a USB cable if you’re just planning to download the OTA zip directly to your device and flash it using a custom recovery if you have not rooted the device and still on basic stock recovery then Micro USB cable is must to get the work done.

If you don’t know how to download and install Android SDK, Unlocking BootLoader and the concerned Drivers.
You must be running Android 4.3 JWR66Y or Android 4.4 KRT16O for this OTA to work.
Download the 239MB OTA zip signed-occam-KRT16S-from-JWR66Y:
Or if you already got the first OTA to KRT16O, grab the 9MB zip signed-occam-KRT16S-from-KRT16O:
To those who not yet rooted their Nexus 4
Step 1: Check the battery level should be above 50% and USB debugging enabled.
Step 2 : Power off your device and boot into fastboot mode (volume down + power)
Step 3 : Now connect your device to pc using micro usb cable.
Step 4 : Check whether the PC is detecting your device or not by running the fastboot devices
command in the C:/Root
folder, don’t know how to check then go through this guide!
Step 4 : Download TWRP
and copy the .img file to root folder and run the fastboot flash recovery FILENAME.img
After TWRP installation, reboot your device
SuperSU installation :
Step 5 : Now download the latest version of SuperSU
and copy it your device.
Switch off the device and again reload into fastboot mode by holding Power+VolDn, then select Recovery
You will now see the updated TWRP recovery. Now tap the Install tab and select the copied SuperSu root file and swipe to confirm.
That’s it, now you have successfully rooted your device. The same to be followed with the KRT16S OTA Update.
Download the KRT16S OTA from above links and copy the .zip file to your device and reboot into TWRP recovery > Install > select the copied KRT16S and swipe to confirm.
That’s it, now you have successfully updated your Nexus 4 from KRT160 to KRT16s OTA update.
